5. Mason room- 5/25/11; Bannack; f/ 5.0; 1/60
I was fascinated by the Masonic room and I was really happy with the way most of my photos in that room came out. I cropped and fixed the coloring on all of these photos.

Macro Abstract

1. Detailing on the church seats- 5/25/11; Bannack; f/ 5.0; 1/40
2. Staircase in hotel- 5/25/11; Bannack; f/ 5.6;1/20
For the stair case I took a photo of the side a building and then overlayed it on the straircase to give it a old photo feel. I took the macro image of the detailing of the church chair. I cropped it and adjusted the colors.

Reverse Shallow Depth

I loved the windows at Bannock. To edit these I added lots more saturation as well as cropped them.

2. 5/25/11; Bannock; f/5.6; 1/640

Acton blurr & freeze

1. Arianne- 5/25/11; Bannock; f/5.6; 1/250
2. Devin- 5/25/11; Bannock; f/20.0; 4.0

For Arianne I cropped the scene because there was some people in it. I also added more saturation and black in it. For Devin this took a lot of trys. It was hard because he had to get up really fast out of that chair while drinking the root beer which made it more challenging then the other ghost pics I did that were more simple to make.

Portraits

I realized that having a little shadow on the face can be very powerful. These shots were really difficult for me to get. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out the lighting. To edit I just adjusted the color adding more saturation, bringing in more darks, and making things sharper. I made Devin's black and white because I felt like it was more powerful that way.

1. REPLACE COLOR:Taylor- 5.22.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/5.6; 1/125
2. MATCH COLOR: Taylor & Logan- 5.22.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/5.6; 1/500
3. EDIT EYE POP: Jamie- 5.21.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/6.3; 1/100
It was difficult to find pictures to do the replace and match color. I am sure it will be helpful down the road but it was difficult to find a picture that worked well and even still for my second picture I wasn't that pleased with it.

portraits

I really loved this assignment. I learned that I have a lottt of learning to do when it comes to photographing people and I thought Sister Esplin did a great job helping me realize that there is so much more to doing portraits then one thinks. I was please with how my shots turned out but I know that I have a lot of practicing to do.
1. Taylor- 5.22.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/5.6; 1/25
I adjusted the coloring in bridge and that is about it.
2. Jamie- 5.21.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/6.3; 1/100
This was by far my favorite shot. I thought it was so perfect and didn't want to do much. I adjusted the coloring a little and then also has a little more bokeh on the right side.
3. Jamie- 5.21.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/6.3; 1/100
I adjusted the coloring in bridge and then cropped the photo.
4. Logan & Taylor- 5.22.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/5.6; 1/120
I adjusted the color and then also put an adjustment brush over her hair for some high light.
5. Logan & Taylor- 5.22.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/5.0;1/200
I just adjusted the lighting in bridge.
6. Emily- 5.21.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/5.6; 1/30

I have discovered that editing wise, my style is really more of a natural look.

Pano

My husband and I found this train track with this wood and metal horse thing at the shooting range. It was fun to discover around there and I liked the old wood on this track.

Old tracks;5.25.11; Rexburg, ID.; f/8.0; 1/200 (They were all around these same numbers)

Camera Raw

The first photo was me just playing in the car on the way to finding a pano shot. I initially thought of it as a throw away shot but thought it would be fun to play with in camera raw. I put more black back in, always raising the contrast level and taking the light out. I think it's a fun photo with bright color.
The second was taken at a old western shooting range past Beaver Dick. I loved this door so much. For some reason the blog isn't showing the difference in color here very well. I put a little more contrast in and evened out the light and black but didn't do much because I already really liked it.

2. My cousin Allie- 5.7.11; Idaho Falls, ID.; f/4.0; 1/500
I took these of my cute little cousins in Idaho Falls. They love to take pictures so they were so easy and fun to play around with. The first picture
I masked out my cousins faces in the first picture to make them sharper after I added a soft glow and saturated the picture a little.
The last picture of Allie, I saturated the picture to black and white and then masked out the bubble gum machine. I loved this picture and doing this little shoot with her.

flora & fauna

The only editing I did to these pictures was adjusting the coloring in camera raw in Bridge. The first photo is of my aunt's dog Lucky. Lucky is sooo crazy and so getting that shot was really difficult and we had to bribe him with treats.
Daffodils are one of my favorite spring flowers.
These geese at the park crack me up. They are so used to humans being up all in their faces, they don't even care.

Blends & Type

I have always loved this seed house vintage building. To make texture over my final picture I found a basket in my house with a cool look I really liked and it really added a great vintage look to it. The only editing of the picture I did was changing the color a little. Adding this texture over my original didn't take as much time as I anticipated.

I love this building. The whole look of it is beautiful to me with the circles and shaping. I love the inside even more. So much beauty and history. The only editing I did again was just adjusting the color. I tried to think of words that would represent the Tabernacle to the people of Rexburg. I think its one of the greatest buildings in town.
